How to do it is take 7 from 10 and get 3 then multiply the first number by the price (3x5=15) and add the 0 that’s how you do it quickly

Awe I love that you are so involved in her learning. I am horrible at math because it is something I struggle with and it would be a fight come homework time when I struggled coming up with the answers. I eventually just stopped wanting to try because math became correlated with bad times. We should encourage kids to learn and not punish them when they make a mistake, but use it as an opportunity to grow. This little girl is already smart but she is going to be very intelligent as an adult because you made learning fun and therefore she will want to put in the effort.

My dad always taught my to just multiply the price by the percentage it takes to make up a hundred percent, from the percentage off. In other words, 100% minus 70% =30%, so multiply the actual price by 30%. I can't explain it well.

Her is how I do it! First get the normal price ex 45€ and the percentage ex.15, now do this formula: (45÷100)X15=6,75. 6,75=The money u need to take off to 45 Now do 45 minus 6,75 =39,75 Italian method

lol this is essentially how my mom would teach us how to calculate the cost of sale items. Tho a bit quicker like change 5.00 to .50 and multiply by 3

Your just have ti do 0.70 × 5

Or just flip it round Given that 70% off means 30% is the new total: 30% of 5 = 5% of 30 (much easier, just half of 3)

Simply multiply the price times the reciprocal of 70%, which would be 30% times $5.00, which would be $1.50. Easy peasy!!! It took me decades to get that memo.... 😉
